A rare print of the Black Letter Edition of the Necronomicon has been unearthed in Southern Germany, and its owners have graciously reached out to Miskatonic University, the foremost authority on Necronomicon Studies, to collaborate on its publication.
The Necronomicon, penned by the legendary Abdul Alhazred, is a tome of ancient knowledge that has long been shrouded in mystery and intrigue. Its nine books cover a wide range of esoteric topics, from Alhazred’s personal experiences to arcane rituals, incantations, eldritch astrology, and sacred hymns to the cosmic entity Cthulhu.
Miskatonic University, while always cautious about the profound implications of the Necronomicon, has collaborated in the publication of this mystifying text. Historically, the University safeguarded its own copy, ensuring it remained out of public reach. Yet, with the recent English translation and the unwavering intent of the owners to share the text, the University has taken the step to digitize the book, making it available to a broader audience.

Thomas Alexander, editor at Miskatonic University Press was responsible for the publication of the English translation of the Necronomicon. He has written an introduction for the book wherein he discusses the history of the Necronomicon, the rediscovery of the specific copy which formed the basis for this publication as well as its physical properties and content.
